How to Choose the Right Baby Hat Size
If your baby has already been born, measure the head circumference with a soft measuring tape. Place it around the widest part of the head — above the eyebrows and around the back of the head.
If you are choosing a hat before birth, for a maternity hospital bag or a coming-home outfit, 40 cm is usually the most practical newborn size.
Choose the hat size according to your baby’s head circumference:
- 38 cm — for very small newborn babies or babies expected to be smaller at birth
- 40 cm — the most common choice for a maternity hospital bag and first newborn outfits
- 44 cm — for older babies or as the next size after the newborn stage
If you are not sure which size to choose, we recommend choosing 40 cm for the first days and 44 cm as the next size for later.
